Anterior eye diseases are among the most prevalent diseases in the eye and range widely from inflammatory eye diseases such as dry eye and allergy to infectious eye diseases caused by vira and bacteria. Anterior eye diseases are characterized by symptoms associated with disbalance of the anterior tissue of the eye, e.g. foreign body sensation, tearing, stinging and pain. Anterior eye diseases are typically treated with topical eye drops, however severe cases can be treated systemically.

Our focus

UNION is developing novel topical treatments for anterior ophthalmic diseases with three molecules being considered. Currently, UNION is running efficacy models and IND-enabling studies with an initial focus on anterior infections as well as inflammatory eye diseases. The strategy of UNION is to build an innovative ophthalmologic pipeline based on three different molecules in topical formulations that will seek to address the high medical need among anterior eye diseases.
